Thanks to support from NASA's Competitive Program for Science Museums and Planetariums, nearly 100 students from the Miami Science Museum's youth programs were able to interact with Leland D. Melvin, Associate Administrator for Education at NASA Headquarters. On Saturday, May 21, 2011, students interacted with Mr. Melvin as avatars in a virtual space environment. This new frontier for learning allowed Mr. Melvin an opportunity to share stories with the students about his experiences as an NFL football player and a NASA astronaut. He also shared stories of what has inspired him in his life, and how he has created his own unique career path. During this exciting event, students learned about various potential career paths, and how you can live your dreams when you work hard and follow your own inspiration.
Thanks! More coming soon.
