Karen Morrow's voice reminds me a bit of Carol Burnett's, and the song itself reminds me of a Burnett song, "Fade Out/Fade In" from the musical of the same name, which came out a year or two before. None the less, Morrow is in the Hall of Fame for great belters along with Merman and Burnett.

Thanks for posting this. It's one of my all time favorite Broadway belt songs. Karen Morrow is absolutely amazing. The Phillip Lang orchestrations are phenomenal and I love how Morrow can cut through the chorus and the orchestra. What a huge gorgeous voice.
I've never seen a production of this so I don't know the book but there are some really wonderful songs from this show. It was finally released on CD a couple of years ago and worth buying. Thanks again.

Love, love, LOVE Karen Morrow, and "I Had a Ball" is a fave. Alas, I truly think she came along ten years too late for the kinds of musicals that she'd have been perfect for. Composers would have been lining up to cast her in their shows. From what I've been able to gather, Buddy Hackett was less than a gentleman to Morrow during the run of "I Had a Ball".

this voice was heard loud and clear at the back of the upper balcony without amplification !

@tsivard1 What program did you use to try to synch?

The wonderful Karen Morrow...what a voice and what a lovely, talented woman. mmdillons, if you have this, could/would you please post it so we can all enjoy this one in synch? And thank you, tsivard for getting it out there.

I have this number saved; it's in sync, and the sound is far superior. I never posted anything, before -- if I send it to you, Tsivard1, do you wanna post it?
I tried very hard to get the synch correct. If I got it to synch at the beginning it would be off withint a few seconds. If I got the end to synch, the beginning would be off.
