  • Would LOVE to see Trainspotting 2 (AKA Porno by Irvine Welsh), which catches up with the characters some years down the line. Brilliant book, but not sure if it could be used as a film.

  • ewan mcgregor is perfect<3

  • Trainspotting glorifies it, but not with ill intentions. Heroin can seem cool from a comforable distance.

  • MÓJ FILM...

  • Coming from a former addict this movie is a documentary of the life I used to live

  • @demonfister Boyle really wants to make it, he's just waiting for the actors to age a bit.

  • Fuuuuuuuu, i need in spanish xD

  • about friends (2:45) ??? rofl. Heroin partners, nothing more.

  • @PurushaDesa As a short answer yes they know when they are done or lying to themselves. I have had had that little voice in my head tell me "just one last hit" more times then I can count. When it comes to addiction with hard drugs I can say that deep down you do know if your actually quitting for sure or not. It's weird but deep down you will know and think to yourself "yes I am quitting and quitting for good." It's only when you are actually down to heart ready to quit before you do.

As someone who's experienced that kind of culture, in your opinion, do users generally know the difference between 'a last hit' and 'a last hit'? D'you think Renton could really tell by the end of the film? I certainly take it at face value that he had gone through the wringer and had genuinely changed but maybe I'm naive. Maybe it depends on the specific personality of the user.

  • @PurushaDesa Agreed, as a former opiate addict I didn't think it even came close to glamorizing heroin. I think its one of the most accurate drug movies out there. Just because it didn't have a completely terrible bleak ending like requiem for a dream I still loved this movie.

  • Thinking Trainspotting endorses drugs is like thinking GoodFellas endorses killing people for money. Just because the filmmakers show characters enjoying themselves doesn't stop those characters from being demonstrably, monumentally damaged people.
