In the same week that Tory Labour and Lib-Dem MPs have been revealed to be stealing from the taxpayer with second home allowances, town council members of those three parties have also been convicted of child pornography, theft and fraud charges.

In a searing indictment of the low level quality of the sort of people who represent the Tory/Labour/Lib-Dem axis, the string of convictions over the past few days includes:

- A former Labour Party mayor of Carlisle has been jailed for 12 months after stealing nearly £60,000 to help pay off her online poker debts.

Jayne Armstrong-Yeomans, 49, resorted to robbing from a social club, where she ran the bar, after becoming addicted to online poker and racking up gambling debts of more than £60,000.

The court heard how Armstrong-Yeomans, now living in Falkirk, Scotland, stole £38,000 from the South End Constitutional Club in Carlisle and then lied to club officials in a last-ditch attempt to hide her double life.

Carlisle Labour MP Eric Martlew sent a testimonial to the court asking for leniency for his fellow party member.

- Wembley Central ward Liberal Democrat councillor Vijay Shah pleaded guilty to eleven counts of fraud at St Albans Crown Court on Wednesday.

Shah, 45, of Clayton Avenue, Wembley, who initially refuted the allegations, was arrested in March 2008 on suspicion of fraud by abuse of position in relation to a company in Hertfordshire.

- Tory councillor David Charles, who represents the St Andrews ward in Hornchurch, has admitted a string of child pornography charges before Snaresbrook Crown Court and has pleaded guilty to 16 counts of possessing paedophile images of youngsters.

Charles was arrested at home by officers from the Havering child abuse investigation team. Depraved images were found downloaded on Charless home computer by police. At an earlier hearing Charles claimed he only viewed adult pornography and discovered child porn by accident.

Charles, who is in receipt of a councillors allowance of £8,507 for 2008/9, failed to attend a single Hornchurch Area Committee meeting in 2007.

* It would seem that criminality in the Tory, Labour and Lib-Dem parties is institutionalised. There is little wonder then that by the time they reach Westminster, they can shamelessly steal from the taxpayer in the way revealed on this website the past week.

The time has come to expunge this gang of corrupt and morally decadent elite from British political life.
