Ave Maris Stella is arranged by Dianne Loomer and is based on an old Acadian chant that is reminiscent of a Gregorian chant. In English it translates to "Hail, Star of the Sea." In this video the O'Neill Collegiate Men's Choir is performing this piece at the Ontario Vocal Festival under the direction of Ms. Easton

  • HI! :D i'm in a high school choir too; I just have some small comments.

    - watch the mens sound. there are times when the sound is pinched to avoid that when rehearsing try making a small circle with the forefinger and thumb and bringing it to your lips it helps to form purer vowels.

    - also not moving the jaw so much is good.

    - try rolling the "r's" and making purer vowels it sounds better especially with the latin language.

    - try thinking DOWN when singing higher notes

    - THIS WAS VERY GOOD!!

  • Good job, my suggestion would be to keep working on blend and a nice warm sound. Nice job for highschool mens
