Brian Wilson performs "Lay Down Burden" from his Imagination album at Farm Aid 1998. This was one of the first performances of the song which is a tribute to Brian's youngest brother Carl Wilson, Beach Boys' lead guitarist who had dies of cancer that year. The musicians backing Brian are a special group put together to back him on this gig & a few others before Wilson put together his permanent touring band in 1999 featuring the Wondermints.
I think I spot the following: Scott Bennett - guitar; Christopher Cross - guitar; Ed Carter - bass; Paul Shaffer(?) - keys; Joe "The Mulletman" Thomas - keys; Brad Paisley (okay, it's Todd Sucherman) - Drums; Nelson Bragg - percussion; Matt Jardine - vocals. I still don't think that's everyone.
