This is some a short video of my first match move test. I created this using Autodesk MatchMover + Autodesk Maya + Adobe After Effects. Again this is my first test with matchmoving but it turned out pretty nice. Footage was taken with my Canon HF11 HD camera, the footage was then tracked using Autodesk MatchMover. The Zune was modeled and rendered using Autodesk Maya. Then the model and the footage were composited together using Adobe After Effects.

  • Sorry to ask you so many question kenwe, I only have one more if you don't mind. When you exported the scene & open it in Maya, what kind of movie background format did you use? or what is a image sequence? I'm looking for an option to tell maya that I want the background as a movie, not an image. Thanks

  • @nekbeth Well when before I matchmove I use adobe media encoder to convert the video file I want into a TARGA image sequence (just converts the video into a bunch of pictures). I use that sequence in Match Mover (better results due to higher image quality). Then when I export the file to Maya the image plane will use the same image sequence, which will act basically like a movie.

  • Excellent!! thanks, I was not viewing through the imported camera. Right now I'm trying to find a camera option so I can edit the object while viewing the image sequence. (when I select either one, the other deselects)... other than that everything works great.. I will give the finals details on Toxik. Thanks for your help

  • There should be an option in the Attribute Editor (Ctrl+A) that will allow you to show the image plane in all views rather than just on the imported camera. Check your attribute editor.

  • Great stuff !!!, Could you help me? when you export, do you export the camera only or the scene? and once you finished exporting the scene to a Maya file & open it on Maya, do you simple add objects to that scene or how do you make them work together? Thanks

  • I export the entire scene and open it in Maya, I then take my previous project, the zune in this case and import it into the scene opened from Match Mover. I then just use the camera imported from match mover as the renderable camera.

  • Thanks, when I export as a maya file and open it.. I always end up with an image plan instead of the movie. Somebody suggested me to export from matchmover to toxik and composite with the original movie in there..

  • That's very impressive!

    I thought it was the real thing until I read the description. ^^;

  • thats very realistic!
