not the first time similac has been recalled. Back in the 1980's it was taken off the shelf and not available for months. parents that filed a claim confirming that they fed their kids the formula (if I remember correctly from 1979 to 1972) WAS AWARDED 200-500 DOLLARS nothing else was ever said about it.

That sucks! I would be extremely upset as well.
I remember when 12oz cans of Similac (powder) back in the early 90's were only $3.99 and minimum wage was $4.25/hr (in CA). Now it's what? $13 - $27 a can and minimum wage is $8 an hour. It's also all probably manufactured in China these days and there is no telling what kind of crap is in there.

eew eew eew! i fed my daugter similac (now 20mo) and in May i was throwing away our old cans and they did have bugs in em! eew! i thought they just crawled in there or someting... and she was really cranky till she was one (when we stopped giving her formula) my son is now 7 months old and im breastfeeding and i was just considering supplementing with formula so i can get my cycle back because we want to get pregnant again... but i dont think i trust formula anymore :( eew! thanx for the video!

You know. This stupid company should no longer be in business either! It's their stupid fault for not having measures in place to prevent this kind of contamination to happen...
They made millions of dollars off of this stuff, so there should be no mercy, this company should not be in business any longer!
I say boycott their products! They won't learn any other way, than to be pushed out of business!

that is DISGUSTING! I can not believe that such a hug company could let it get this far! Thank God my lil nephew Rye Rye is feeling better! GREAT video love!!!

I hear ya .... my daughter is 3 months old and has been drinking Similac from the beginning since I've had to supplement with formula. Luckily I bought all of mine at Costco and they took it all back so I don't have to worry about dealing with Similac, but YUCK. So disgusted. I agree w/the comment on my page - you should totally do a video about your comments! :-) We use Dr Brown's bottles, too, so I was hoping the same thing about the "barrier." Are you switching him off Similac?
-
Is the Similac Spit up 12.3 oz on the recall too? I am so mad about this!
-
Hayleigh was on the Similac and I switched her to the Gerber powdered formula. I agree with you 110%! It is so frustrating and I am disturbed at how these people can not make things safe for infants, toddlers, etc.

Oh my gosh. I would be in tears if I found that out. Sorry

SICK! I just finished my last can of formula for Leo I already through away the cans though so I would have no proof that I fed it to him. He has had diareah bad for a couple of weeks I thought it was from the Apple Juice. Damn now I can tell everyone I fed my baby COCK ROACHES!
awww nooo! :(( That is disgusting. When I formula fed I used good start gentle plus and it worked really well with my son. I would recommend that, if you are willing to switch. That is scary and very gross!!!

@lunarain19 We used goodstart in the beginning but this was the only one he could tolerate without spiting up after I ran out of breastmilk.

OMGosh!!! That would make me so mad too! We only used ready made formula for Grant. We switched him over to whole milk at 11months! I would just switch Riley over to it too since he will be 1 year tomorrow...slowly of course!
