I made this little noisebox at a DIYmakeaway workshop put on by the Swiss Mechatronic Arts Society (http://www.mechatronicart.ch/diymakeaway/). I plan to add more to it, eventually, but for now it is just two oscillators being blended together. Both square-waves, with one having pitch-control from a potentiometer (ie, a knob) and the other by a photoresistor. Then I have a little amplifier inside the box to power the speaker. The box makes a great resonator! Something about the way I blend the two signals is fucked though - I think that maybe I'm overpowering the oscillator chip when they are blended or causing something wierd to happen. Both oscillators are on one chip, and I think that when both oscillators are running at the same time, that the chip is overpowered. However, the power to the amplifier chip is feeding backwards or somehow compensating - so when I play it through the speaker, it sounds great, but when I use the line out the signal is weak when the two oscillators are blended. But whatever it is, it sounds rad!
