Red won the first match. It was something like +1 to -1 to Red.

Ness' bat can go through shields? Can't say I ever noticed that.
I do know that his bat can reflect projectiles, same with Lucas' Stick.

meh, new pork city is a bad stage... it's too damn bland, and so hard to score a KO. Mushroomy Kingdom is soooo much better, or pictochat.
And if you really have gone to temple more than FD, I ENVY you ;(

(Excuse me for the second comment, but I ran out of space in the first one)
So, now I'm trying to choose Luigi's mansion instead of New Pork City. Actually, I've learned to take advantage of the stage's obstacles so I can more easily escape people like Final Destinationers or Spammers. If Luigi's Mansion gets overused, I'll just start choosing Mushroomy Kingdom.

Oh. Well, yeah, New Pork City is what I like to choose instead of Hyrule Temple (seriously, I've been to Hyrule Temple even more than Final Destination!!)
When going to New Pork City on this day though, did you really expect a taunt party? Taunt parties almost never go into Team Battles; it's just less freedom for them in those matches.
Actually, now I've noticed that New Pork City has become the taunt parties' version of Smashville; now it's being constantly chosen.
Dis-connections like that happens when people leave in the middle of a match, at least in my experience. I was beating everyone in the room by about 4 points, and about a minute in it Dis-connected. I just have a feeling if things aren't going well for them, some people just leave in the last few second. Cheap, and annoying.

Is that why I often see them in the last 15 seconds of a match...I thought a computer player is supposed to take over for someone who disconnected.

Yeah. I think that's how it SHOULD have worked, but Nintendo kinda messed that up...
The computers seem to appear randomly when someone leaves the match. I've had 3 people leave, and no computers show up when it counts down to a 1v1. Other times, 1 person leaves and is replaced by a computer. Go figure.

No, I mean in the middle of a match. I assume it only happens when you pseudo-pause the game and press the buttons to quit and not the more common method of simply turning off the Wii.

I've never had a computer replace someone in the middle of a match actually. I don't know if it even happens. If it does, well, it does.

Well, it was designed to be seamless and that you're not supposed to notice it.
