@tggold Beyonce can get away with that behavior while singing pop and rnb music, but it's going to become painfully obvious when she's asked to sing songs like "Dance of the Robe", "Easy as Life", "The Gods Love Nubia", and "The Past Is Another Land" in the context of the musical. All you have to do is listen to her sing "Listen" in Dreamgirls for proof. She sounds amazing, she's making all the right facial expressions during it, but the song isn't interpreted as well as it should be.

@tggold The problem isn't with Beyonce's voice. Anyone with ears knows that the woman is vocally talented. Honestly, I'd argue that she's a better technical vocalist than Heather. The problem with Beyonce is how she USES her amazing voice. Her lack of interpretative skills and her tendency to sing as a means to show off her awesome voice instead of singing to showcase the emotion in the literature isn't preferable in ANY musical role and it'd be downright tragic for someone to do so in Aida.
