USMC MEU Amphibious Landing Exercise

A Marine Expeditionary Unit is the smallest Marine Air-Ground Task Force in the United States Fleet Marine Force. Each MEU is an expeditionary quick reaction force, deployed and ready for immediate response to any crisis.

The Marine Expeditionary Unit is normally built around the building blocks of a MAGTF: a reinforced Marine infantry battalion is the ground combat element, the aviation combat element is a composite helicopter squadron, a battalion-sized logistics combat element, and a command element. Troop strength is about 2,200, commanded by a colonel, and is deployed from an amphibious assault ship.

@TheyDidThis IF you want to blame anybody blame politicians who give them their orders. Their job NUMBNUTS is to follow orders. THIS IS COOL! I did it in the 80's when we had sensible politians who unlike you. who think before they react. Your doing nothing but blaming the something way down the chain of command. @BSheehan0011 I went in 1986. Open contract. why? I got in trouble in 85' My dad former Marine 64-70 signed me up parental consent. Left right out of high school. My point is. When you get to boot camp you retake the asvab test again to make sure your the one who took the test recruiters do cheat. That test is the determining factor of what your MOS is They gave MOTOR-T. so keep a positive attitude and you'll be surprised where you'll end up.

@TheyDidThis your an ols MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit)? How could you have been the entire MEU? I don't believe you and I sir was a part of several MEU's i.e. BLT 2/6 which went to Kosovo on this very ship.
