Colorado Springs Police Academy & the Budget Crisis, ft. on KKTV Channel 11 News 09/30/09

For anyone that missed it, this is the segment of the 9/30/09 news that aired regarding the budget crisis and how it may affect my academy. Again, GET OUT THERE AND VOTE. Help save my job -- and more importantly -- SAVE THE CITY. The monetary shor...tfalls aren't a "scare tactic". If this initiative doesn't pass, say goodbye to your city parks, pools, transit system, many firefighters, police, and other luxuries. Think about it.

Thanks Rob, we all have our fingers (and toes) crossed. It's unfortunate because a lot of citizens lack faith in their city council and feel that the repercussions are merely "scare tactics" and they don't trust that the money from this mil levy will be appropriately dispersed. The reality of this initiative failing is frightening.

i wonder how guilty the mayor and city council feels after hocking our police operations center and giving the usoc 35 million dollars of tax money and then tell us they can not afford police and fire. .if i were a cop or fireman that was laid off after they just gave 35 million to the usoc i would hate the mayor and city council . they have no fiscal responsibility.

shelby i personally feel bad for you but alot of people do not trust this city government anymore. the city cares nothing about crime but will put traffic revenue before safety in crime  . i think people are going to send a message by voting down 2c. .motorcycle cops on every corner and a council and mayor that wastes money has made people very upset in this town and i think those voices will be heard on nov 4th..

it is sad you are caught in the middle of it all..
