Old timers do not call it a dasher :) I have one and use to help my grandmother make butter in molds when I was a kid. I'll take the shout out :) Thanks! I'll make a video about the churn my grandmother gave me! Thanks Colonel for the fun as usual!!

Wouldn't it make more sense to a prepper to want to know how to make butter the old fashioned way? Under a complete collapse of our society, the food processor may not be the best way to do it. Who says we will have power to spare? Power at all?

My wife is a teacher and she taught kids to make butter with heavy whipping cream and a baby food jar. Basically you fill the baby food jar 3/4 full with heavy whipping cream and shake it like there's no tomorrow until it becomes butter. Pretty neat to watch it change from cream to butter.

As I said in my comment, if we have to make butter with that thing again, I will be going without butter. I do not eat that to often anyway, but that thing is a pain in the butt. It takes a very long time to make the butter, and when you do, it does not make very much at one time.
