  • Could you make a video about using an external hard drive for backing up your system ( not applications ) ( Don't use Compact Disks ( CD )please post it as a response to this video

  • @aob8032 Will do - Please allow 1 day to complete. I appreciate your patience and please subscribe!

  • This is wrong. If you just drag and drop your files, it only creates shortcuts to the original location of the file. Just a heads up. Backing up and making shortcuts are two different things.

  • @spartan9199 Spartan - This is an exact copy of the data. Not a shortcut.

  • I might get one aswell as my c:drive is full but lets say i copy the program files and then delete it off my c:drive will i be able to open the programs without any problems ? (by programs i mean softwares)

  • @Arm0redp3ngu1n17 It honestly depends on how the program is designed. For the most part, most programs need to be installed and contain a key. The best way to make sure you will not loose your programs in the event of a computer crash is to hang on to the installation CD and product key. If you purchased it online, save the email link.

  • @ITConflict,

It is possible to transfer the Master Files in the C Drive directly into the External Hard Drive all in one shot? I know you were talking about getting errors for some files, but overall will it affect the transfer?

  • @DrA5H I apologize I am just answer your question. This channel is just getting up-to-speed with having someone manage it. To answer your question, this backup is a basic data backup. The data is stored on an external source and easily recovered by plugging the external drive into any computer and copying the files over.

  • how do you restore all the data you have backed up? Do you have to press a certain key upon boot up to load all files and programs back onto windows?

  • @LordOfCuteOnes Depends to be honest. Spinning up the drive takes away from its overall lifespan. Any electronic component with moving parts is not made to last forever. If it holds important data, just be sure to have a backup, of the backup.

  • my external hard drive has a lot more space than my computer altogether. Im sure it will last for a long time.
