PONTIAC, MI (June 21, 2010) -- Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard and Ted Quisenberry, Manager of Oakland County Homeland Security, joined Zimek Technologies CEO Kurt Grosman during a special press conference here today (6/21/10) in Pontiac, MI to jointly announce important homeland security initiatives and key bio-terrorism preparedness.

"We are constantly reminded that the threat of terrorism on American soil has not abated. Law enforcement and first responders, on the front lines of America's homeland security, need every tool at their disposal to respond should another attack happen," stated Kurt Grosman, CEO of Zimek Technologies. "The Oakland County Sheriff's Office has shown great leadership to integrate Zimek's proven patented, automatic Micro-Mist
decontamination technologies which they have been using to prevent the spread of infections. They are now prepared to utilize the new anthrax remediation disinfectant which will provide them with a critical bio-hazard
capability."

"As a major county sheriff, I understand the vital homeland security need to give local first responders the critical tools to respond to a biological threat to their communities," said Sheriff Bouchard. "I intend to do just that by preparing my deputies and personnel accordingly. I applaud the efforts of Zimek Technologies to help mobilize this important remediation solution."

Zimek® Technologies (www.zimek.com) based in Tampa, Florida, has been developing and marketing its patented automatic Micro-Mist™ decontamination technologies for more than five years. Zimek's industry-leading technologies are used by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Fire and EMS departments, healthcare facilities, public health agencies, transit systems, correctional facilities and local law enforcement agencies across America. Zimek has entered into a strategic partnership with sBioMed®, based in Orem, Utah, which has developed STERIPLEX® Ultra to effectively destroy anthrax spores—the world's deadliest biological agent—for
product users such as military personnel and first responders when responding to biological attacks.

Oakland County Sheriff's Office is the largest "full service" Sheriff's Office in the State of Michigan. With a current jurisdictional population of 1.2 million residents, the Sheriff's Office services over 273,000 residents through law enforcement contracts in 14 surrounding communities. Sheriff Michael Bouchard, who oversees the department's 1,200 employees with an annual budget of $121 million, brings the experience of 22 years of law enforcement and 22 years as an elected official to his position. He's also a steadfast advocate of homeland security and has led many initiatives before Congress.
