time-lapse drawing of a lion done in colored pencil. some parts i managed to do with both hands, but that really slowed me down...The brands varied from prismacolor, crayola, roseart, and some ancient ones i found around my house. ... i suspect i've become color blind from this... x__x Thanks for watching!

Song: Konoyo no Uta (Piano Version), Solanin

  • I didn't like it.....I loved it!! I am a young art student and i was wondering if you could give me some tips on using colored pencils because I can't seem to figure out how you use so many contrasting colors and still make it look realistic

  • @Stawiarz1234 haha thank you for your attention! i don't often work with color pencils so i'm very appreciative of your praise, hmm.. it's considered taboo by others but, i applied quite a bit of pressure to provide the emphasis i needed for some areas, and where i didn't i barely pressed down on the tooth of the paper so as to not ruin it, and furthermore, to be able to blend it with similar colors for a smooth, overall image.

  • @Stawiarz1234 as for my color choice, it was more on a whim, my choice of color scheme depicts me as very gauche, i get a lot of weird looks from time to time XD well i hope that helped any, and thanks again! :D

feel free to ask me if you have any more questions!

  • haha thank you! and thanks for watching!

  • Gorgeous colors. Sid you use black at all?

    Lovely job there

  • how do u decide when and where to put weird colors? like the blue and yellow?

  • I am also an art student, looking for colored pencil techniques and I got into watching yours, I have to say... the choices of colors are unique, not my taste, but you still did an awesome job, and I agree from the few videos I have seen, with the shading you start light in light areas and use a darker shade before applying your color in the darker areas, it's a quite common technique and you did well. I just couldn't see a blue lion, but for your style this is appreciated.

  • this deserves all the views it has! :D keep up th drawing skills

  • A-MAZ-ING

  • I like this the color play reminds me of my own work . Currently my favorite medium is colored pencil I used it in almost all of my projects last year. Again, good work!
