Here's a version of rock-a-bye baby that I would sing to my children. It is almost the same as the classic lullaby but because some of them were sensitive to lyrics, I replace the last line, "down will come baby, cradle and all", with the happier and gentler, "and I will catch baby, cradle and all". The trees and waterfall in the background are part of a mural that I painted. I hope you enjoy. Cara (www.caraaboutyou.com)
Nice. :) Very similar to a gentler version I came up with. Mine goes "Then mom catches baby, cradle and all". It's nice to know there are other moms out there who share my opinion that many children's songs are too scary or violent to be appropriate for small children.
Have you ever read the story behind "Ring Around the Rosy"? It's too sad for words. :(
