  • no matter the song or genre when Johnny sings you sit up and take notice

  • Look at how they all knew the words of the 2nd verse...When America was Christian, we were great. WHat are we now? Lost.

  • Johnny Cash was the best of America.

  • @matthewwp56 yes we are because we have turned our backs on God. We kill 4,000 unborn children everyday in The United States. Pornography runs wild on the internet and tv as well. We are taking God out of every institution and school. It unlawful to say homosexuality is sin. We have many states who recognize gay marriage. Yes unless we return and repent we are lost.

  • @matthewwp56 we're just as lost today as we were 30 years or so ago. and not every American is Christian, so you make me feel bad because I'm not Christian. I certainly feel like I can make America great as an atheist just as much as anybody else as a theist. but I feel good because it is Christmas, so I hope you've reflected on your comment and its implications.

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah to all,

Be tolerant and full of love

  • @matthewwp56 This is true. Being Christian helps you remember lyrics. This was also a time in America of much social unrest and racial inequity. But, you are right, nostalgia makes everything rosey.

  • Johnny cash sings for everyone no matter religion.

  • A baby will be born soon!

  • Cheers for this, loved it,hear johnny sing brings chills

  • Is it common nowadays or ok to say that at this point in time the majority of church goers are the older part of the generation?

  • @americanscholar85

That's the number who profess a faith. The number that actually go to church is more like 40%, and if you exclude Christmas and Easter, 30%. And when you start talking about the percentage who do as Jesus said to do, all the time and every time, the number becomes vanishingly small.

  • @elenac1010 Thank God is right. He makes us all different. You clearly misunderstood what I said because of a small typo do not assume the worst of people 80% of people are decent if given a chance. I am a pissy old wizard prophet yes oh well talk to my maker maybe He has a reason for making people the way they are not the way you perceive they should be.
