After what seemed like an everlasting hiatus, Brooklyn's own proprietors of underground dance, Dope Jams, announce the latest installment of their now legendary in-store dance parties and all-out hedonistic extravaganzas, a 4-year anniversary celebration on the 26th of June, 2010....

From the hand-to-mouth trials of the early years to, well, similarly hand-to-mouth tribulations of today, Dope Jams still stands proudly in the midst of Brooklyn's historic epicenter. It seems to us that 4 years is as good a reason as any to push aside concerns of social convention and self-image in honor of what the store has always devoted its entire energies towards: sheer revelry, unrestrained pleasure & pure sound, the heart of NYC's dance music legacy, a smoldering fire that still burns beneath the ashes of boredom and gentrification that have consumed much of this beloved metropolis. Fear not, however, as it IS still possible to have a good time in this crazy town we call home, a fact that attendees of Dope jams' infamous parties previous know well. Having refurbished the store in anticipation of the droves of diverse party enthusiasts that have come to adore these special events, the store & it's faithful staff have already begun the preparations for what we hope will be the most full-fledged exercise in self-liberation and communal transcendence we've seen yet.

Paul Nickerson, Francis Englehardt & Nick Hallstrom will be programming in line with Dope Jams' customarily belligerent ecelecticism, with the basic objective of rocking the party at all costs---theirs & yours. So come join us in celebration of another year of Dope Jams' existence, take a good look backwards at hard fought accomplishments of past, a hard look forward into a future as yet still unknown, but most importantly a momentary forgetting of these restraints of time, work and responsibility in favor of free play and unchecked impulse, where the only duty you will have is to let your self go.
