My first try at and overview. The machine is less than two weeks on the market in this video. As mentioned in the video: 6gig. ram (free upgrade from 4), 1 terabyte harddrive (free upgrade from 750), 2gig. Nvidia graphics card, premium wireless Lan. card, standard keyboard and mouse (wired), optical disk drive, 20 inch moniter- In the case you migh want to purchase the customisable model. It prices to a little over $700. One thing to mention, Windows Live Essentials does not currently work on this series, I'm working to find a solution to the problem with HP. Enjoy! Edit: The problem with Windows Live was a personal configuration glitch, so no problem now.

  • Great vid. Now that you've had the computer for awhile how well does the vertical optical drive work? Do you think it would be a problem for gaming discs that get a lot of use? Thanks.

  • @DewGuy1999 I've use the disk drive quite a bit, as long as you are careful, there really isn't any more danger to the disks than a horizontal drive. There are two little holders on each corner that retain the disk where it should be without harming it.

  • It has been several months since your review are you still happy with the s5xt?

  • @valletti2008 It has been consistantly reliable like new the whole time. I still can't say that there is anything on the downside of it. And nothing that they've advertised, it hasn't acheived, unless I havn't tried it yet! My old laptop had severe overheating problems, but this machine is alot better, as this has been a big concern with HP products.

  • @RoberttheTogg Im thinking about getting this, but the s5xt they have now on hp website I think is different. now it only has the 500 gb HD, and they don't have option for a 2gig Nvidia graphics card. What CPU does yours have? the one Im looking at comes with Intel Core i3-2120. Do you know if i don't upgrade graphics card and hook up to monitor using VGA if I will still be able to stream high defenition video in HD? Im on a budget but need my HD video, if not then Im just going to buy a laptop

  • @LOWDOGK Hey, the hard drive option for the free upgrade is gone now, sorry. The graphics card option is also gone that I used. You would want to check the option in the customiser for the graphics card that says HD, currently there's two, including the one it will come with as the base model. Note: my moniter supprized me not having a HDMI port so be careful if that's what you want to use, all have a VGA. I am using the Core i3-2120. The base model says it is has HD graphics. Good luck

  • @RoberttheTogg Thanks!

  • @DjDuel911 You select the option that says "Free Upgrade to 6Gb of RAM" and you will pay the price for only 4Gb. They should make that a little more clear when they give that option, I totally understand why you're confused.

  • @RoberttheTogg When hp says free upgrade e.g from 4GB ram to 6GB ram, does it mean that the pc come with 6gb of ram or does it come with 4Gb and you have to request the free upgrade? ... im kinda confused :-/

  • I'm afraid I can't answer that, I've never played black ops. But, it does well with high demand programs and games so I don't see why not.
