Atheism is NOT the absence of religion. Atheism is the belief that there is no god, not the belief that religion is wrong. Christianity, or any religion for that matter, is faith in what they believe is real. So is atheism. Athiests believe in evolution, the big band, natural selection, dinosaurs, and the absence of an all powerful, creator of all in the sky. Atheists believe in stuff, that's why we have things called "theories". God is one of the less probable theories. Actually, impossible.

@Acrimonator Atheism, the word, presupposed a notion of theism. In addition to study of this notion, is the pop-culture aspect of atheism you see all around you like in Dawkin's books (for the literate) and in shows like Glee & House (for the illiterate). Anyway after years of study, I can say that atheists largely believe they are disputing the existance of a personal go, and in 99% of their debates, the personal notion of the Abrahamic God.

by the lesser definition of miracle: magic acts are miracles and magician would be equaliant to prophets or messiahs? my logic might not be air tight but you get the idea.

@PauseToHesitate why did you have to mix atheism to anything else ? Atheism isn't belief in evolution, nor is it belief in the big bang... And BTW, try not to misuse the word theory neither... Do like Eddy, open a freaking dictionary...

@happyhappy85 Since you didn't respond for 3 days, I presume my evidence of confusion on the meaning of deity was not sufficient to lead you to the evidence of deity-like entities controlling the laws of physics. Basically, you just pick absolutely any science you want and examine its boundary conditions; relativity, evolution, Copenhagen interpretation, double slit experiment, quantity of sub-atomic particles and their properties, in particular quarks. All of these are complex, not simple.

@happyhappy85 ...con't having established these semantical relationships, we can extend some of the ideas of the Copenhagen Interpretation and specifically Bell's Inequality to argue that conservation laws appear to currently be balanced non-locally. This appears somewhat supernatural at first blush, however it is semantically equivalent to say the word "vishnu" at this time, because both have equal explanatory power (i.e. just to say that they *are* controlled and balanced).
