"How far would you travel to heal someone you love?
An intensely personal yet epic spiritual journey,
THE HORSE BOY follows one Texas couple and their autistic son as they trek on horseback through Outer Mongolia in a desperate attempt to treat his condition with shamanic healing.
When two-year-old Rowan was diagnosed with autism, Rupert Isaacson, a writer and former horse trainer, and his wife Kristin Neff, a psychology professor, sought the best possible medical care for their son — but traditional therapies had little effect.
Then they discovered that Rowan has a profound affinity for animals (particularly horses), and the family set off on a quest for a possible cure.
THE HORSE BOY is part travel adventure, part insight into shamanic tradition and part intimate look at the autistic mind. In telling one family's extraordinary story, the film gives voice to the thousands who display amazing courage and creativity everyday in the battle against this mysterious and heartbreaking epidemic.
The filmic companion to Isaacson's best-selling book of the same name and a festival favorite, this ravishing documentary odyssey gives insight into how, in lifes darkest moments, one can find the gateway to joy and wonder."

Many genuine childhood problems are only now being recognised by the powers that be that govern young lives, even Asthma was derided by most teachers in my day , still is, look at the case in the English school only weeks ago where a boy died sitting in a corridor because the teacher did not see his upcoming death. The teacher has since been dismissed.

True enough what you say here ... Medical and neurological disorders not yet being explored, lack of information with parents, teachers and other officials, or even blunt ignorance, neglect and intolerance may lead to so much unneeded pain and suffering in children's lives. It is wonderful to see, on the other hand, that there are people like Rowan's parents, who literally went every lngth, to help their son, and bring so much good to many autistic children now.

You're a precious man for this one. Great adventure for this boy, crucial moment for him and a dream for all.

Thank you for this nice comment , Denis:-)! Rowan's voyage is a proof that things can happen that are short of a mircale, if you really love someone and care for him.
