I think you should stand him next to a wall and make his legs go back a bit more. That's what I do for his robot mode buy you could use his car mode.

Can the Mech Alive be activated by moving the head itself, instead of pushing the chest?

unfortunetly it cant, be barely moves any chest pieces. the only way to get the full mech alive movement is to press the chest button.

It seems to be simply posed here. Can't the peg be plugged if you push on it harder?

yeah, its a pressure peg, if you press it in harder it will stay in, but i left out to show that the mech alive feature cant be fully used with that peg placed in.
