I think he could have communicated his theory far better in his native language, and have the translations subtitled. Perhaps he was trying to explain it in layman's terms, but nonetheless, that was barely intelligible and I would have liked to see a more technical discussion of it.

He can't seriously be saying that they went out with the aim of making it heavy to suit the 20" wheels? Why not reduce weight and use smaller wheels and tires?

No, it haven't any sense at all.
The weight of a car in a corner is subject to centrifugal force, the aereodinamic weight NOT!!!!
Only on the snow the BIG weight of the GTR represents a traction advantage.

He's saying that the reason why it's so heavy is because you can't make a normal car really have all that much downforce, so instead you have bog-standard weight to take it's place. At low speeds, this means better grip than cars that are more focused on having aerodynamic downforce take the place of weight.
