The John Brumby State Government of Victoria is not adequately addressing the dangers posed by trucks passing through Wallan and Kilmore.
For over 20 years, residents in both towns have demanded a full bypass, but have received only lip service in reply. Now the Brumby State Government says that it will address the problem, not with a full bypass, but by re-routing trucks past schools and/or through residential streets.
Tell the State Government to stop telling lies - give Kilmore and Wallan a full bypass!
I dont know if anyones thought of this but my dad has thought of a solutiion. Why not divert the trucks that need to go to echuca (which are the trucks that are currently going past wallan and kilmore) to the road along puckapunyal. They keep going on the freeway, turn off on the seymour exit. Take the road that goes along puckapunyal and then they pass everything and they it goes straight to echuca etc.

What is the hidden agenda the Labour Party has that is pushing them to build the costly duplication of the Northern Hwy from Wallan to Kilmore & the Kilmore Link past 4 schools, a Church, the CFA, a high care nursing home and past homes, demolishing some? They tell us the trucks are local, with Deniliquin, Lochyer Valley, Echuca, Bendigo, Mount Gambier etc written on their sides. Why the lies and secrecy? A bypass is by far the least expensive and a safer, healthier alternative for residents.

The Victorian labor government lies about the cost and viability of a bypass but will not give us a cost to do the unwanted duplication that will not fix the problem anyway. The duplication could be four times the cost of any bypass. They also lie about the number of trucks that use this road and the increase in numbers in the future. The noise and atmospheric pollution they cause is also an environmental disaster growing in size. They also want to destroy the Avenue of Honour in Wallan.
