Dandy day for the dogs
The famed Newport mansion Rough Point is hosting the first ever Doggy Fashion Show. The event is sponsored by Wag Nation, a pet boutique, and attendees can bring their well-behaved canines to watch the show. The falls finest four-legged fashions will be modeled at an outdoor setting on the grounds overlooking the ocean. The Potter League will be on site providing information on pet adoption, humane pet care and dog training. Make a donation to the nonprofit and be entered in a raffle for a Rough Point book and tickets. This will also be a perfect opportunity to see the Shop Like an Heiress exhibition featuring Paris couture and American designers from the Doris Duke collection.

LOCATION: Rough Point, 680 Bellevue Ave., Newport. Thursday, Sept. 10, 5 to 7:30 p.m. $5 adults; children 12 and under are free. All canine visitors must be on a leash; dog waste bags will be provided. Rain date Thursday, Sept. 17.
