What about all the different denominations?

Amen! I fully agree with the Christian unity you describe! Mutual relation is one thing I strongly hope for in all of Christianity. And, on the side, I'm glad you mentioned that the non-trinitarians are outside the Church.

@RetroLoverGirl Denominations started with Lutheranism. Google it and you'll see for yourself. Don't take mine or anyone's word for it.. Since Martin Luther 33,000 denominations of churches..Just splitting off from one another..The only Church that is not a Denomination is The Catholic Church. It never denominated from anyone.. I'll prove it to you right now. Google "List Of Popes". All of them (PUBLIC and Catholic) will give you the whole list from Peter The Apostle to the present Pope..

@nschaub What was said about 4:40 to 5:00 There is assumption that if there are different teachings somebody is right ... and somebody is wrong. The correct thing to say is that not all of them logically could be correct. So logically existence of teachings that are wrong is necessary, that part I agree. However no such logical necessity exists that someone is right. It might be that one of them is right or it might be that all are wrong.

Orthodox Christians completely and utterly reject original sin yet they still insist on baptising infants. Is infant baptism really about original sin?

@JDNWF66 I understand completely that protestant pastors will not answer the questions. They have departed too much from the one true church established by Christ.

The Catholic Church who brought us the bible Is the Final Arbiter of Truth. Period. Explanation point. Anyone wishing to make me stand corrected, prove me wrong using Scripture and Traditions of The Early Church. (2 Thess 2: 15) I beg you to.. ;-)

@catchzz Your never going to hear this or any Pastor's remarks to my question because for them to acknowledge the date of the Church who brought us the Canons is the same Church Dates they all criticize for departing from Truth....So which is it, Pastor Lassman? Can't have it both ways... On doctrine ... scriptural canonical dates and everything in between.... They can't, Catchzz.... They just cannot. So they dummy up. Sad to say leaving you in a confused state...but you don't have to be.

@catchzz So let me continue from the earlier post in your answer by asking you that if The Catholic Church gave us The Bible, wouldn't it be obvious that The Catholic Church would have the sole authority to interpret it? ABSOLUTELY. If someone made you a pie for desert and you wanted to know the ingredients of how to make it, who would you go to? A stranger off the street or the person who actually made the pie? You know the answer to that one. THE PERSON WHO MADE THE PIE. ;-)

@catchzz I will answer your MILLION $ question. Ok? Sit back and relax. This is an easy one. The answer is that The Catholic Church (Roman) gave you and me the bible. Yes indeed. If Historical record proves this for you, you can research this yourself. It were The Catholic Church Ecumenical Councils from the 300's A.D. to the 400's A.D. that DECIDED wihich books and epistles were to be added into the Scripture. So let me ask you a logical question. (Next post.....continued.....
When he said that if there are different teachings someone will be correct and someone will be wrong he lost me... He apparently is unaware that everybody can be wrong and excludes that possibility.

@upisoft2 Hi..........I don't know what video you heard......but I ackowledge in class that everybody can be wrong..........Yes, I know that..........but not everybody can be right..........I do make this distinction...

correct me if i'm wrong but i thought there were no denominations in christ as technically we are all still children of God - that includes hindus muslims and jews

@RetroLoverGirl Hi.....according to the New Testament only those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior from sin and death are children of God. Here is one example: Yet to all who received him (Jesus), to those who believed in his name (Jesus), he gave the right to become the children of God" (John 1: 12, NIV);

Thanks for posting this! ..Denominationalism is the result of the REACTION to different teachings: they PARTED WAYS..which is division!
How, in your opinion, would God want us to 'deal' with the reality of denominationalism today: accept the 'status quo' and cooperate or insist on getting back together., behaving like Rom 14 (weak and strong) describes?
Koensdus 1 year ago
@Koensdus HI..thanks for your comment. I don't think the Romans passage applies as that is talking about "adiaphora"...things that are indifferent....not about doctrine. We never compromise God's Word for any reason. The only God pleasing solution is to overcome the CAUSE of the divisions: different teachings. And the only way to do that is to come to agreement on God's Word.with study.............however that is done. My church works toward that goal with other churches. Thanks again...
