If only fishermen could see the damage that this unnessessarily destructive practice leaves in its wake! Very, very sad...

I haven't eaten a scallop before, so I have to ask: Why throw away much of the scallop and save only a part for eating?

to all the people that are going on with all this "hurting the environment" bullshit need to shut their mouths. scallop dragging, crab fishing, shrimp fishing, etc etc are all a part of our atlantic culture. live with it or die bitching about it

Hey, my dad was one of the fisherman that you were on the boat with :)

Great video. Thanks for putting it up. These tree huggers are misinformed and have nothing better to do than bash hard working men and women.

@Jwonnytonny Jwonny, seriously, 50bushel tows of what? 80 count? 120? are you fishing pruvians. upper bay of fundy, home of the digby scallop, a 10bushel tow is getting rare in the third week of the season. especially anything better than 30-40's, you're looking at 7 bushel tows tops, 30min tows @ 2.5k unless you want your crew digging muck all day for 50-60's you're lucky to get 10

@InfoWarriorMaverick Batter scallp rings, and deep fry them. It tastes like someone blew their nose into cleenex that a scallps fisherman wiped their hands on, and fried up. Occasionaly a market in asia opens for the scallop roe, but many fishermen dont bother becuase the time:profit ratio is just too low.
Draging is like tilling a forest to pick some blueberries...pretty sad, stupid and selfish.
