Such open throat vowels, quickly spinning vibrato (almost pure) and cutting consonants, such clear ornaments, and such word painting... listen to the way she sings 'pity' (1.22), 'tears and sighs' (1.27) 'pain' (2.06) or 'gone' (2.17)... she knows how to get across the meaning! Bravo :)

I love her timbre

superb, melancholia has it's place.

Am singing this for my dissertation. Such a beautiful song :)

Thank you for your recommendation. I enjoyed Elin Manahan Thomas singing this. It is sublime!

Wonderful!! The best soprano of early music is still you dear Emma!

@piprobins classic singers usually trill their R's, especially in an old piece like this.
-
so tell me song experts where does thr trilling of the RRRRR come in to the everday song singing ,
seems unreal

@piprobins Stiff my backside.I have seen her live 11 times, and she has the most impish and delightful sense of humour.Apart from being one of the very few who actually sings the notes written by the composer, not something they fancy is right.
Such a clear, pure voice! Perfect for renaissance music.

Flow, my tears, fall from your springs,
Exiled for ever, let me mourn
Where night's black bird her sad infamy sings,
There let me live forlorn.
