Ricoh LC1 lens cap mod for LX3 and D-Lux4

can i ask you something?

in wide angle it seems great, but when you use the telephoto mode, doesn't the cap hides the view? because unlike most camera's the LX3 lens gets shorter in telephoto mode. so can you tell me if it wouldn't interrupt me to take pictures in 60mm? is it safe to buy? it looks cool but i don't want to be disappointed on that point. I adore the LX3.

I already gave the solution in the step by step instructions. There is no vignetting when the mod is done properly.

Those of u having problems with vignetting, head over to my site n check out the instructions. It will not vignet if u do it properly.

I knew what I was saying! You didn't tell me anything new so don't give me this attitude. Even though what you said is right, the lens cap is closing too much on the lens so you can see some shadows in wide angle and in telephoto.

I bough it myself and I was right. I had to adjust it and to put something under those doors. Than it works perfectly.

I think you can buy a version of these on ebay that screw right on to the ring/adapter threads on the camera.

I have better solution about the vignetting. Do you know that crappy tripod they give you for free when you buy a camera? I cut some of the round rubber of the legs and super glued it to the cap wings. But the hardest part is to fix it on instead of the ring. I wonder if you put it without or on the ring and how. I have melted the plastic of the cap so it would fit without the ring.

You know what sucks? I can't copy-paste the address on the video can I? I need to write it all down just to see how you did it. I don't have the LX3 anymore and I did a great job with my cap so it won't matter.

Hold on a second and think about what you're saying ;)

Telemode -> you're actually ZOOMING and you don't see anything which is on the very left or very right side. Got it? ;)
