Recent studies have shown Nymphaea caerulea to have psychoactive properties and may have been used as a sacrament in ancient Egypt.

  • It has been found to contain Nuciferine and Apomorphine. Combined with alcohol this could make for a very pleasant experience in moderate doses. I've never done it, but I plan to try it eventually.

  • According to the Shaman australis website, it doesn't contain either "Blue Lotus was assumed to contain nuciferine (1,2-dimethoxy-aporphine) just like Nelumbo nucifera, but this does not appear to be so according to the MS data. Aporphine and Apomorphine (6a-beta-aporphine-10,11-diol) have also been excluded."

  • yah Batman also used blue lotus to conquer his fear of bats and become the Batman. duh

  • Blue lotus was a very nice high. It made me feel much more intune with myself and my surroundings although gave me a great sense of paranoia when in Wal-Mart. I am definitely doing it again im getting an ounce tomorrow

  • it was a blue poppy..not blue lotus..and if my memory serves me right it intensified his fears..and he feared bats

  • Meditation aid? Pffft..

Read experience reports before considering trying Blue Lotus.

  • I don't know if I want to add white lotus or blue lotus to my own smoke blend I'm planning to make. I guess I'll add white lotus because its proven to be psychoactive I guess

  • definitely possible, good call

  • I have had many blue lotus experiences, I swear by it as a meditation aid. Smoked, the effects are subtle, and it may take a few times of using it for you to recognize the exact "blue lotus" feeling. people usually pack 2 to 3 bowls of the dried plain flowers. I have also soaked it in wine, and would highly recommend it. The effects are much stronger. there really is no limit to the time you can soak it or the amount, you just have to get a feel for it. Through deep mediation i have had OBEs.
