Something was on my mind that I should let more people know about this, probably my favorite book: "The Art of Loving" by Erich Fromm. I think it should be required reading for anybody. And note, it's not called "The Art of LoveMAKING" for a reason, haha! I might have an older edition, but good luck searching it out, if you're interested. Happy February month of LOVE!

  • I am glad to see the books of zionist cultural subversive Fromm still brainwashing the goys.

I hope you read about the Frankfurt school of Marxist Revolution.

    Read and weep.

  • @glower125 I respect your opinion. I doubt that Fromm is some sort of infallible philosopher, and I hesitate to delve too deeply into buying into his ideology. Just because I like one of his books doesn't mean I'm one of his followers. It's his philosophy, but I don't believe any sort of opinion justifies being taken to an extreme. That's when problems begin to arise. But I think his message in this particular book is positive and helpful. That's just me, though.

  • I've read many of Fromm's books. (I'm curently reainf his The Anatomy of Human Destructiveness.) His ideas have had a prfound affect on my understanding of Human psychology and philsophy. Concerning The Art of Loving, my own criticism is on his analysis of heteroerotic love and homoerotic love. I have some doubts that heterosexual attraction comes from the proceative polarity because I have not really seen that manifest in people. That aside, I agree with his conept of love.

  • @NS243CXCVI I would agree with you on that (that heterosexual love does not necessarily stem from a procreative basis). Yeah, that would kind of leave a hole as to where homosexual love stems from since its not procreative... Hmmm.... But I guess there are some people who have sex just to have children, though that kind of sex doesn't necessarily have to be rooted in love... it's almost more like work. Haha.

  • This book is amazing and totally changed my perspective on love and partly life in general.

  • @Zoffchen Glad to hear, uh, READ it! Haha.

  • One of my fave books ever. I was a psych major for 3 years, and it seemed they pushed tons of Freud on us, but no Fromm. I had to discover him on my own.

  • I have read this book but I am having problems understanding the love of god part can someone please help? not with me loving god but what he is talking about in the book?

  • Cool ! Good job ... Well, you see I'am really happy about younger people discovering Erich Fromm! Despite fact he was a nazi - germany refugee living in the USA, his books were much more read in Europe ... It was already written in 1956 !! so, you see: ERich Fromm was decades (!!) ahead of his time !!! I read the book when i was around twenty, that, about 30 y ago ;-)

  • @FaithsInMyChest Ah, thank you! Much obliged.
