  • The Phantom clearly loved Christine, but it was a selfish love, all about what she could do for him. "Say you'll share with me one love one lifetime, lead me save ME from MY solitude." Raoul's concern was what he could do for her. That's what a good love is. It's what you can do for the one for you love not what they can do for you.

  • I love how the two top comments are complete opposites - Raoul vs. Erik. I think Erik was too abusive and possessive, however Raoul is too girly for my taste. haha therefore, ERIK WINS!!!!!

  • Its funny cause even when Raoul knows that Christine is locked in her room he tries to get her for about 5 minutes and then forgets about her until she apears later back at the muto play

  • @TheAwsomeBandGeeks She knows about the phantom and how he has visited Christine

  • I dont get this.......... why does Giry see the Phantom take the key out of Christine's door, and then not do anything???? Does she WANT them to hook up or something?????

  • whats wrong with raoul?

  • @raracheld I'm right here, waiting for you....

  • My name is Lotte :)

And when I see Raoul, all I can think of is the paedophile from Hard Candy :/

  • @JuliaTrekkie1701 I just watched the movie yesterday and I was thinking about Erik's love for Christine was deeper than Raoul's love. Raoul was just a 'childhood sweetheart'. He couldn't have the deep love, understanding, and friendship that Erik had. Erik was possessive, but like you said, he never knew how to love or how to handle feelings. I think Christine's love for him was more of a fatherly love - the whole Angel of Music thing. I think Erik belonged with Madame Giry. She truly loved him.

  • @ooohmikatglitter Erik wasn't abusive and possessive, (well maybe a little possessive) but that's because he had never known love before! When he reached out to Christine, she understood his pain and loneliness, and he grew to love her. All he wants is to be loved, as does Christine. When she kissed him in the end, that was all he needed. They complete each other! Team Erik FTW!

  • @MeikoMoo I LOVE YOUR COMMENT. Team Raoul! <3

  • TEAM RAOUL!
