The, until now, director of the OST of Dragon Ball Kai, Kenji Yamamoto, has been accused of plagiarism in their BGMs (background music), and Toei is taking drastic measures. I say "until now Director" because the credit has been quickly replaced by Shunsuke Kikuchi, who was director of the OST of Dragon Ball Z.

  • HE RIPED CHALLENGERS FROM ANOTHER BAND.

    There goes my childhood ;(

Well in retrospect, now i'm a fan of Stratovarius!

  • Well this... This is extremely disheartening. Kenji Yamamoto was one of my favorite musicians, due to his work on the Dragon Ball Z Super Butouden series. But after seeing this, I'm a tad bit less thrilled by his work... I can't believe my absolute favorite track, Cell's theme from Super Butouden 2, was ripped off from a Pink Floyd album, of all things. I feel like my heart's been ripped out. As a huge fan of his work, this really hurts. But then, the truth often does...

    Thank you.

  • This is missing two examples from Budokai 3:

    1. The Level Up Music vs. Chic's "Everybody Dance"

    2. The Item Pickup Music vs. Earth, Wind and Fire's "September"

At least he was straight about it in Budokai 2. Those Tower of Power shout-outs were the only good thing about that game.

  • Fuck i loved chellenger my favorite song

  • Dammit, I loved Challengers Theme! TT_TT

  • Damn, these were some sick remixes too. What a damn shame he just couldn't give credit for the ideas.

  • I UNDERSTAND. Kenji Yamamoto Z (not Kenji Y of Nintendo) was ENLIGHTENED. I came to this conclusion at the full realization of Yamamoto's plagiarism. It would seem foolish for Kenji to plagiarize for nearly EVERY score for DBZ... why would he do that? IT WAS HIS INTENTION.

Kenji called out to every spirit on the planet: "PLEASE WORLD, LEND ME YOUR ENERGY!"

The vast energy of Hollywood pouring into DBZ...

    THE GENKI DAMA of MUSIC

DBZ NEEDS the musical energies of the entire planet!

  • Challengers was one of my favorite songs. Now I figure out Kenji Yamamoto ripped it.That bastard. I'm disgusted.

  • @ninjarearJG yeah that makes more sense....=P

  • @Extraspectacular92 um not really, rappers sample and rap over the beat where their selling point is the mix of the original song and their own lyrics, by just taking the song and basically changing it slightly in the same tempo and key is just plain stealing even if he did credit them.
