Dr. Mukwege speaks to Lamia Gritli of the VOA French service about children of rape in Eastern Congo.

Dr. Mukwege and the Panzi Hospital work to promote basic quality health care for marginalized populations and in particular it aims to improve access to and the quality of maternal and reproductive health, promote and encourage the application of women's rights and gender equality, prevent violence against women and children and to support survivors of rape and sexual violence to rebuild their lives and those of their communities.

The Congo Story Project is a reporting and public awareness campaign by the Voice of America that uses crowdsourcing and co-creation techniques to raise awareness about gender-based violence in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
