Dateline Washington-The Case for Pakistan 2

This 7 minute piece addresses the issue of Pakistans future from the perspective of Pakistani Youth, either born and brought up in United States or studying in foreign policy schools of Washington DC. Their thoughts about problems and solutions. What do they wish to achieve by studying foreign policy in American Institutions or associating with US Think Tanks and how do they plan to influence the US Policies towards Pakistan. How do they perceive Pakistan's future and what can be their role in this future course?

High school student at Great Falls High School, VA wants to do something which can help people in United States to think positively about Pakistan.

Natasha Murtaza— MA Student of conflict resolution and Middle East Peace at George Washington University. Plans to be posted in Pakistan as a US Foreign Service officer, who understands both cultures.

Mohsin Ali— MA Student of conflict resolution and world peace at American University. Currently working at Washingtons Brookings Institution, says that conflicts cannot disappear by themselves; one has to be part of the resolution to make them disappear. He plans to go back to Pakistan and work for the betterment of the education sector in the rural areas of the country, which according to him is held hostage by the conservatives.

Erum Haider Chicago University Graduate and Independent consultant for World Bank, says that Pakistan is the center of attention these days and the environment in Washington DC is in favor of Pakistanis who want to join think tanks.
She thinks that Pakistani students need to go back to their country and become a positive part of society but before that if they can correct a few misperceptions about Pakistan while helping an American scholar in research at a think tank, it will make a big difference.
