@themaniusedtob New technology is always more expensive! Just look at the prices of plasma screens when they first came out. The price will come down after these guys have recouped development costs and people get used to such a mode of transport. I think it is brilliant! If it weren't for such pioneers sticking out their necks and taking a chance, we wouldn't ever see new gadgets on the market.

why anyone would pay thousands of dollars for a poorly designed product is beyond me.

id buy it for $800 or even $900 aslong as the battery wont be gone in 2-3 years...

But there is nothing like this out on the market.
Its $5K because they have to recoup the development costs that went into making it. Materials, factory production, R&D, employee pay, etc.
