i understand you. i have this nystagmus. i am 19 years old and my life is hard at times.people look at me wired when they notice my eyes moving. with my condition you could notice it but if you look closely. love your son a lot because as he grows his life is going to get harder trust me my parents didnt really know much about it until we went to a professorial and he told us about. as he grows and understand talk to him about it and let him know what he has!

Yes my son has episodes that look exactly the same. When he has this vertical nystagmus it is accompanied by head bobbing. The head bobbing didnt start till he was 6-7 months but he had the nystagmus earlier. He also has horizontal nystagmus that is very slight all the time. We are still tring to get a diagnoses. Possibly spasmus nutans???? My son was born Nov 1 2009, which looks like our boys are around the same age. Have you any news on your little guy.

@tenrady -We haven't got a lot of info yet... He had a normal MRI, now we're waiting on ERG results. The Ophthalmologist thinks he may have some form of retinal dystrophy. We know he's a little nearsighted, but not enough for glasses, we've been told. I just posted some more recent videos, so you can see his eyes don't 'bounce' as much anymore, they just sort of rotate horizontally. How is your boy doing now?
