Become A Territorial Soldier ( TA ). All the jobs available in the regulars are available to you in the TA. Not a particularly good time to join (funding cuts) but it is a fantastic life & the people are fantastic. You will meet some dislikeable folks now & again( I have, usually Physical Training Instructors lol) but 99% of them are brilliant.
Be part of the biggest family in the world.
All one army now so TA soldiers have front line roles. Taking people up to 43 yrs old as long as you can pass a minimum fitness level. You have to be able to run 1.5 miles in 14mins or less. All other fitness tests are just best effort but the run is pass or fail.
I'm a radio operator in the Royal Signals. My unit offers close support to deployed personnel. Best thing I ever did

  • @ZombieSlayer1210 I'm not sure on those issues. Your best bet would be to contact your local recruiting office and ask them. Have you thought about cadets?

  • What's the age limit for joining mate ? I'd look it up, but I'm about to hit the sack. TA might be right for me.

  • Lower limit is 18 I think but there was a 17 1/2 yr old lad on my basic training. Not sure how it works, best check with your unit. The upper age limit is definitely 43. If you want to become an officer then the upper limit is 35 I believe

  • Your english is fantastic, where did you learn it?

  • @Nunfluff Piloting would be in the RAF I should have thought and their upper age limits quite young, something like 21 I think.
