While ice climbing up Hunter Creek in Southcentral Alaska, we stumbled across a moos who had found himself on thin ice. Perceiving a desperate situation, my climbing partners put forth the valiant effort to help free the stranded moose at their own expense. Although it became quite intense for a moment, everyone, including the moose survived the day.

  • Nice try guys, hope you weren't too sore the following day. sadly, animals don't know when we're trying to help. You get a five star from me for trying.

  • Nice try guys!

Next time, but ill guess you all know it by now, ears back on a moose means really pissed off and could charge at you any second.

  • guys the moose got out why it was there is that it heard u from a mile a way and a response for moose when it feel in danger it goes in the water

  • Nice try thinking of the moose ,it`s probably warmer done there running water is just above freezing stress and determination will get it out , I wittnessed a bull jump a 12 ft chainlink fence in Jasper national Park thats alot of meat to be flying seen elk go over the same fence it probably got out .

  • It is almost as if the Moose expects and is asking for help, with the way it tilted its neck and raised its head toward the two men?

    Thanks for uploading this video!

    Take care,

  • 5 minutes of a static moose and the momento he moves the camera man fleds!

  • @Snipe4261 if the moose did not get out of that it would die. it was frozen. moose have to keep moving in the cold in order to keep there temp up enough that he would not freeze to death over like that basically. he need food and to keep moving and a place to sleep like Pine tree groves or something warmer.

  • Why didn't you dig out the snow ? to a slow decline to the water. i'm sure it was possible with a lot of work tho. but i bet if you did that and left he would find it and walk or climb out through it.

  • @btq28 That's probably why the moose was hanging out there.

  • AAAWWWWW POOR THING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • isn't the water warmer than the air? otherwise it wood be frozen, right?
