I tried to spray paint the knobs and sterring wheel of my 72' Bug using plastic paint but it started dripping...The metal interior of the car is pearl white and the parts I want to change to that same colour are black, please help!! I want to do it at home- in the cheapest way, obviously :)

@ZONER4201 Yeah you basically have to drill it out and retap new threads.

Hey Chris,
Also - do you have tips on how to remove a dash pad in a 68? A video tutorial would be great! Mine is in great shape minus the vents (which I know are seperate pieces) and the area right under the glove compartment - for some reason that are ripped right along the length of the glove box and the painted dash behind shows). I'm thinking a replacement is the only way to go.
Thanks!

@MoreciB There are just 8 screws that hold the dash pad on, just take them out. Also take all knobs off, then get a set of needle nose pliers to take off the chrome circular things that hold the switches on, plus the chrome speedo ring and you should be good.

Hey Chris,
This is off topic, but what do you use to remove excess carpet glue residue on the inside of the car? I want to get as much off it off as possible along the edges of the carpet where it might be visible.
Thanks!

@MoreciB Usually scratch it off with a putty blade, or use WD-40
