Thank you for making this video. Very clear instructions :) I'm planning on making a hat with a cable and this will help me so much to understand the pattern. Elly

I need to learn how to do a cable going to the right..... C4R. thank you.,.

this video was very helpful to me. However, not only do I need to make a 4 stitch crochet cable going to the left (C4L), but I also need to know how to do a cable going to the right (C4R). I know how to do the left cable, but I am confused about how to do the cable going to the right. Could you explain how this is done? The pattern says you have to go around in BACK of the FPDC's to the skipped stitches and then do the FPDC.... but wouldn't this be a BPDC then?

Hello,
I was wondering, will the cables turn out ok if I replace the double crochets by single crochets and the triple crochets by double crochets?
Thank you for posting this, it has been a lot of help!

Thank you so much for posting this video. I've been trying to learn the cable stitch for over a year and could not find decent photos online to help me. Your video showed me where I needed to place my stitches and where I was making my mistakes. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thanks for clearly and concisely demonstrating crochet cables. It is because of this video that I finally understand!
I got confused, how many chains are you supposed to make in the beginning to equal out the 20 double crochet? Also is it actually 19 double crochet considering the first two stiches you skip for your first row?

@wclarke82 Sorry I missed this....I started out with 20 dc's....5 sets of 4 stitches. This continues throughout the piece....3 sets of 4 dc's with 2 sets of 4 trc's for the cables.
