Respect.

Thanks for posting the video, there are so many sad situations all over the world and surprising, the dogs in your video are almost in luxury when compared with Greek animals, Greece, having the worst animal abuse record, per capita, in the EU. They have this ignorant idea that animals "have to make love", hence the hundreds of thousands of dumped pregnant dogs; puppies are usually found in rubbish bins. Chinese kill dogs to eat which is disgusting but not illegal, also skin cats alive to eat.

I see.
That's nifty.
Our shelter's never been full, so we've always had other kennels to temporarily hold them while theirs were being cleaned. :)

The dogs have so much beauty and personality. It's just heart breaking, but the rules are getting stronger, fines are getting bigger, and publicity getting getting more negative. Please watch my video/s. Sasha is well trained but especially hard to handle. SHe's nothing but friendly, however I've had to put up with heaps of critism, and verbal abuse since owning her. It's not just the owners. It's politics. I'd like another dog (outside, away from sasha) but owning them these days is difficult.

what a rotten affluent society this new zealand is
no heart for animals

Always been of two minds when it comes to the SPCA. One hand they're the biggest and best known animal rescue, which as an idea I support. But they loose my support when I see the goofballs at the helm of their organization like Bob Kerridge with his treatment of the Pit Bulldog, which he voices every time media stick a microphone in his face and says "Bob give us something for the ratings"...

o sorry i didnt read the description box
Also, that wasn't a very nice shelter. The cages were tiny and short. They were also wood on the bottom, which isn't a good idea, because it swells. On top of that they were all outdoors.
Our local shelter is indoors with TALL cages, in fact they are a LOT less like cages than the ones in this video.
The dogs are given baths every weeks and brought out to walk by volunteers every day. The cats are let into a large area to romp every day.
It's a very clean, sophisticated, nice, shelter.

Only thing, most shelters treat dogs & cats a LOT better than you described in the thing.
For example: " living in it's own excrement,"
If a dog were to be in that kind of situation at a shelter, that shelter would probably be shut down. And dogs actually get walked every day there.
But still, it is no place for an animal to live out it's life. A pet deserves a happy loving home and should not just be dropped at a shelter.
In conclusion; Adopt a shelter dog. (preferably an old or unwanted one)

Adopt an older dog. A cute puppy probably has a better chance but an older dog will appreciate it so much and can become such a good friend! I've adopted two older dogs that have enjoyed a new lease on life. I'll do it again too.

He is intelligent, very affectionate. He just loves his cuddles and being told he is a good boy, he is fit and healthy now and runs around with the youngsters like a spring chicken.
He still seems happy, now and I will give Rex a wonderful retirement home.Every day, our Rex is teaching us that love is a gift, no matter how long.
