  • Great answer, I thought. If you trust the GOD revealed in Jesus...if you really trust that GOD is like that, that Jesus has shown us what GOD is really like...then that will have radical implications for everything else: who am I, how to live, what is right, etc... I think a whole lot is packed into his "nutshell" answer. Thank you.

  • Interestingly, he does not talk about sin!

Why did Jesus die on the cross? He died for the sins of the whole world, even for those

who do not and will not believe in Him.

But all who do believe in Him will not perish eternally but will have eternal life. Of course, John 3:16 says it better and more clearly than I or the Archbishop!!!

  • to say that jesus died for our sins is Vicarious Redemption. Many people have died for others in reality knowing full well that it was a one way journey, not rising from the dead 3 days later.

  • ISLAM is with us like it or not, knowledge is power:

  • "Trust in Jesus"? What about Jesus? "Trust Jesus about what God is like"? Then why did Jesus have to die? He just could have said trust me! This is a very, very twisted, confused and distorted attempt to explain the gospel. A much simpler and clearer explanation can be found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

  • let's keep it simple, Jesus said, FOLLOW ME, simples, God bless,

  • Not a word about the Resurrection? Many people were crucified, only one defeated the grave! Why do Catholics focus so much on the sacrifice and so little on the gift Christ gave us? It was his resurrection that opened the door for our own salvation. The sacrifice is no longer ours. We have an important word to spread, which is why Christ made the final sacrifice.

  • @revholland1 I think the very concept of putting the Gospel into ones own words is something that is in its very essence an impossibility, therefore any attempt is commendable. And I would read Proverbs 26:1-11 before you call someone a fool. And Psalms 37 may help you understand the need for trust. You cant repent because of the fear of punishment or a lust for eternal life. You must trust in Christ and in contrast to his glory hate your sin.
