Jesse Sandoval demonstrates his amazing talent in kicking onside kicks. Jesse is a Kicking World student who was a high school standout kicker at Valencia High School in Orange County, CA and now college kicker at Fullerton College and also assistant coach at Kicking World California kicking camps. Jesse can nail the popup onside kickoff one after another. He is deadly accurate, consistent and can pop the ball up so high that it's scary. I think most players receiving the ball would be afraid to jump up and catch this onside kick! Jesse can also do these onside kickoffs with his full steps and 'disguise' it so it's a surprise onside kick at the last second without the other team even knowing.

At Kicking World we recommend you aim your onside kick for 11 to 12 yards downfield at the "0" of the number 50 on a field turf field. If you're on a grass field you can simply aim in between the hash marks and the sideline about 11 yards down field so your kickoff team can have the best chance to recover the ball. We say 11 to 12 yards because if you aim for 10 and are short it won't count but if you aim for 11 yards and hit 1 yard short it is still a live football.

  • How do you get them so high?

  • @knkgoblue It's Magic. haha.

  • So does the ball actually bounce off the ground quickly before going up or does it directly go up?

  • @lebbeus Yes, the ball hits the ground quickly just before it pops way up in the air. That is the advantage of this onside kick because the other team cannot call for a fair catch. Most players in youth or high school football would be scared straight to jump up and try to recover while seeing the kickoff team running right at them. Coach Jesse (the guy in the video) who is also a college kicker and student of Kicking World went 7 for 7 on attempted and converted onside kicks his frosh season!

  • @kickingworld This ball didn't touch the ground at all! I've slowed it down and there was no contact with the ground. He is kicking the ball at a low point so low that he kicks the tee as well. A fair catch would be allowed to be called here. Plus the ball is going further than the minimum 10 yards. Not that impressive. If he was this good, then you might have been able to find some game footage of a lot of recoveries. You guys are dishonest and horrible coaches.

  • @rushingfn LOL, You are nuts.
