I have a Rare 2007 nitro daphne blue single coil highway one strat. Fender only made 1500 in this color for the upgraded version strats. The color was discontinued 12-31-2007.

Polyurethane? I thought the HW 1s had nitro finishes...that's why I was planning to get one. :\

@maintheradio dude the Alnico III pick ups are in fenders top 5
best and they a said to be some of best versatile pu's made
period! its people like you who like to take there own personal opinions
and try to make them a fact i have a problem with that. the highway one series
period is one of fenders most successful series in there 65 years. and the 2007
models are one of the most sought after strats today. soo asswipe my coments are based on true facts yours are nothing more than opinions

Im sorry but this guitar just sounds pretty shitty.
i mean, i know you've done all this expert research and stuff, but it ultimately comes down to tone and this guitar is just way too thin and twangy. i think it just has to do with the MIM stock pickups, maybe throw in some new nicer pickups and you will have a halfway decent guitar.
I'm just not that into it. If i might ask, why are you so crazy about this guitar in the first place?
