Go into the paddock and on the track with HRCs Ken Weingartner and Auckland Reactor as the New Zealand Horse of the Year qualifies at the Meadowlands in 1:53. Trainer Kelvin Harrison and driver Brian Sears share their thoughts as well.
How is this horse now? I feel bad the experiment did not work. It would have been a great story. He was just a bust here like David Beckham. I wonder if the horse would consider coming back to the USA if he would wear men's underwear.
@smaexpress You have no idea how right u are. There are 2 main diff btw racing in NZ / US: 1. the majority of races in ANZ are ~10-12F. historically the horse/s that have held 1m records haven't always won the most in prize$. 2. If a horse challenges for the lead in ANZ, the leader doesn't have to hand up as they do in the US. So drivers are less likely to press the leader in some situations. Have a look at some races in my site & you'll see how important that is. US racing bores my stupid!
@STU676 No he's been sent back to NZ to race. He's as sound as ever. Although last month he was diagnosed with a throat condition that has been operated on. Apparently he's raced with it his whole career. He should be back in action early in the new year, just in time for the Interdominion in NZ. It's a shame that you didn't get to see the best of him. But a sub-1:50 to Hypnotic Blue Chip?? gives some sort of indication how good he is.
Brian is right! Dominating in New Zealand is not the same as dominating here at the Big M. If nothing else, Auckland Reactor will bring the BEST out of the Big M's premier pacers.
