techcnially, most e-drums just take vibration signals drum a drum head and trigger various drum sounds (perhaps triggering different sound based on where/how-hard you hit it). The wave-drum is different in that the sound from drum head is used as a wave-guide (like fiber-optics, but with sound) to shape and give character to basic drum waveforms. This makes wave-drum more nuanced and responsive. Think of it like this: the drum is a synth, and the head acts like it's filter.

i saw him live do this and i still dont no how it works. its cool how he dubs everythin over each other.
