FMS have delivered an American classic in the P-47 Thunderbolt...AKA...."The JUG!" Is she all show and no go? or does she deliver the goods? Watch the video to find out. Also checkout the list of mods I did to make an already good bird even better. I hope you enjoy the video...

Thanks for watching and your support!

  • Sigh, well I just ruined all four blades on my prop and the spinner on a bad landing. I was wondering what size and pitch of prop should I get to replace it if I plan on using a 2 bladed prop?

  • @7jsm7 13 inch with a pitch somewhere around 8 to 10

  • I know first hand how much time it takes to produce a good video. Not only do you need really good editing software, but more importantly, you need loads of creativity. Your series of three videos on the P47 have impressed me very much. I love how you used that classic WW2 song and accented in B&W scenes of the model flying! That was unexpected and I actually got emotional while I was watching. Well, I commend you sir on your great talents. Thanks for taking the time to make this.

  • @hot4plasma Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated :) I enjoy reading comment like yours when you can see that other people out there can appreciate the time and effort not only in what's involved with the hobby but also in making videos for others to watch. Thanks again and I wish you all the best with your flying

  • @DAMIENloh1970 yeah I solved this a while ago. I did exactly what you suggested, but I kept my spinner. I found a way to reinforce it and keep it balanced, I need to do some work on the nut on the back though, it's kind of stripped out.

  • @7jsm7 I am assuming u have the newer ver of the P47 (i.e 4 bladed with 500kv 4250 brushless motor, 65A ESC..etc), u can try using the corsair spinner of the FMS 1400mm warbird series, they look identical..if not the same, also, for the replacement 4 bladed prop, I cant find any diff betw the 4 bladed prop used by P47 and the V6 P51D Mustang (they have the same profile n size 14x8)

  • @PARTYjohn69 Thanks, I would like to stick with the same stock prop, I liked it, but nitroplanes is out of stock on it and the spinner, I'll look around and see if I can find the same prop that came with the plane. If not knowing what 2 bladed prop is going to be very helpful. Thank you

  • @PARTYjohn69 I put a comment up on his flight review, saying how bad the stock CG was. Hopefully at the very least it helps some other people out so that they avoid my mistake. Man I hope I never have to fly a plane that tail heavy again. It isn't fun and it isn't easy, it's just pure insanity.

  • @7jsm7 Glad to hear you got her down in one piece :) maybe you can let Tony know at Nitroplanes he got the CG wrong ;)

  • @PARTYjohn69 Had my first flight today. Well sort of. I had the CG wrong, it was tail heavy. I thought I had it at 85mm but I was dead wrong. Oh my goodness! I've never tried to fly a tail heavy plane before, it freaking sucks. I luckily was able to land with miniscule damage, but for my next flight I'm putting the battery as far forward as it will go. With the battery all the way up front the plane balances out quite nicely. The fact that I was able to land safely means it must be a good plane.
